Happy Thursday! 👋💐
Hope the sun's shining benevolently wherever you are. Heard a funny job-search quip in a Facebook reel: "On my resume I'm putting Senior Manager at Payless Shoes, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Kmart. Who're they gonna call?"🥳
In today's WFH
update, if you're looking for something entry-level, this customer service job with a large credit union might work. Starting pay ranges from $31k+ to $38k+/yr., depending on where you live. No college requirement, no state hiring limits listed. Click here for details.
Beware this job scam, shared with us yesterday by reader Jen R. (thanks Jen!) (excerpted) --
"I was contacted by a person who found my info and number on Indeed. This person sent a W-4 form and an Employment offer letter, which seemed
legitimate..."
Jen was told she needed a physical for the job, and the "employer" emailed her a check for the cost. "I then needed to print out then tape the front and back of the check together to deposit in my banking app by taking a picture of the front and back. I never heard of that. Plus, upon receiving the check, I noticed that the check number was in front of the bank routing number and account
number.
"People need to be wary because they are now getting smarter by using a new form of giving something that makes it look legitimate."
Thanks again for sharing, Jen. We're glad you caught the con game!
